To me, this is fun food, finger food. My earliest memories of arancini take me back to Italy, when my grandmother would make it for us as a snack for afternoons on the beach. It’s compact, easy to eat and kid-friendly. My kids love them, and leftovers make great school lunches

Lazy Pork Wellington
Sometimes you come across a recipe that is so incredibly easy and so incredibly delicious that it’s like a gift. This recipe is inspired by my friend Carlotta who makes some of the best olive oil around. Sometimes that really good olive oil is hard to find here in Canada so I've adapted this recipe using savoury butter and freshly chopped herbs like sage and rosemary.

Wine-Poached Pears with Parmigiano Reggiano & Ricotta
Fruit, wine and cheese is a very typical Italian dessert. This is kind of a twist on that idea. When you poach the pears you get a chance to add more flavors—the combination of wine, saffron with a hint of lemon is slightly exotic. Parmigiano Reggiano and ricotta are two of my favorite cheeses, and they complement the pear really well.

Parmigiano Reggiano Cream Crostini
A simple recipe - the wine adds moisture to the grated Parmigiano Reggiano, making it spreadable for your crostini. You can toast the crostini or not. If you want you can eliminate the pear and mix the Parmigiano Reggiano and wine with chopped walnuts and chopped black olives.

I generally find cauliflower to be a very bland vegetable, so I like to use it in dishes that take contrast that blandness with sharp-flavored ingredients like anchovies, olivesa and capers.
