MAR 16, 2009
Happy March! Spring is definitely my favourite time of the year. After a long cold winter the gardens get ready to grow once more, and that's one of the reasons why I'm so excited to be at this year's Canada Blooms, taking place in Toronto from March 17-22.
I've got a few things going on at the show. First, I hope you'll stop by to check out my entry in the Celebrity Window Box Design Contest. I've got some stiff competition from the likes of The National Ballet's Rex Harrington and ET Canada's Cheryl Hickey, but I think I've managed to pull something off that people will like. My theme is (not surprisingly!) an herb garden, so if nothing else, I should win just from the great scent of fresh basil and rosemary alone. I'm keen to take the top prize because the winner receives money to donate to charity. It's all for a great cause, so I'd love it if you drop by the booth to vote for me!
On Saturday (March 21), I'm taking part in an on-stage interview with the CBC Radio's Karen Gordon. We'll be talking about healthy Italian cooking, my TV series, and how to use food to bring family and friends together. Following that, I'm facing off against my wife, Nina, and a few others, in a flower arranging competition. I'm not sure who talked me into it, but may the best florist win! I'll be signing my new cookbook after both of my events (11:30am & 12:30pm) so come by and say ciao. I hope to see you there!
A presto! |
