I've hooked up with the Ontario Government to introduce some new menus
for kids and their schools this year. I'm really hoping it will light a fire under everyone to serve
better food in the school cafeteria and hopefully even get kids and teens excited and interested in
cooking. These recipes are fun and take no time at all to make.
For the launch of this I've developed a no cook recipe featuring cous cous, orange juice,
onions, blueberries and other fresh vegetables. It may sound odd, but is an awesome burst of flavour, crunch and
colour. Check out the video featuring Premier McGuinty and some of the students from Cardinal Carter Academy in Toronto.
Check out the video here.
And if you don't have all the vegetables on hand, feel free to substitute and make the recipe your
own. If cous cous is not your thing, check out some of the recipes on my website.. Two really simple recipes that are
absolutely delicious are Tuna and Bean Salad & Lemon Pasta.
You can also check out the government's website at www.ontario.ca/eatingwell for a few more recipes
to try.
Cheers! |
